As a university town, P\u00e9cs has always been famous for its openness and diversity – this approach is perfectly represented by the Umami restaurant<\/strong>, which has been open since 2021 on the Szigeti \u00fat campus of the University of P\u00e9cs, on the south-east corner of the New Theoretical Block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new concept of the team of the Pezsg\u0151\u0151h\u00e1z Restaurant, which has been operating successfully for two decades, not only brought professionally renewable energy, but also a unique gastronomic experience: the aim of Umami is to offer guests a daily taste of the cuisines of different nations of the world – healthy, fresh and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restaurant’s speciality is that it not only offers a quality, fast and creative menu at lunchtime, but also a themed counter<\/strong> in the afternoons, where a variety of international snacks and dishes are served to university students and visitors from the rest of the city. The dishes often include exotic flavours, innovative combinations and national specialities rarely available elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The place is particularly attentive to different dietary habits and sensitivities <\/strong>– vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free or gluten-free options are available. The philosophy behind the local ingredients, seasonal sourcing and in-house production<\/strong> is backed by a dedicated, young, multilingual team who work day in, day out to ensure that every guest can find their own favourite – even beyond the fried meat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
