This time, the race will focus on southern Hungary, with competitors facing a distance of 829 km between Gyula and Veszpr\u00e9m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"945\" height=\"648\" src=\"https:\/\/pecs.hu\/app\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-78313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pecs.hu\/app\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image.png 945w, https:\/\/pecs.hu\/app\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-300x206.png 300w, https:\/\/pecs.hu\/app\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-768x527.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 945px) 100vw, 945px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was broadcast live on national television by Duna World. G\u00e1bor Schmidt, Deputy State Secretary for Sports Administration and Development; M\u00e1riusz R\u00e9v\u00e9sz, Secretary of State for Active Hungary; Domonkos Schneller, President of the Hungarian Cycling Federation and K\u00e1roly Eisenkrammer, General Director of Tour de Hongrie gave speeches at the event. Hungarian riders also took part, including J\u00e1nos Pelik\u00e1n (Team United Shipping) and reigning Hungarian Champion M\u00e1rton Dina (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tour de Hongrie 2026 is organised by the Hungarian Cycling Federation, Vuelta Sports Office and the National Event Management Agency, with the support of the Active Hungary programme and the State Secretariat for Sport of the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the route:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are 12 categorized climbs on this year&#8217;s route. The only 1st category climb will be the finish in P\u00e9cs \u2013 B\u00e1r\u00e1ny Road and T\u00f3tv\u00e1zsony-Gella were classified as 2nd category, while Tengelic-Sz\u0151l\u0151hegy, G\u00f6dre, Zob\u00e1kpuszta, and Szentkir\u00e1lyszabadja were classified as 3rd category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over the course of the 829-kilometer race, competitors must overcome an elevation gain of nearly 5,500 meters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The first three stages of the five-day race favor sprinters. The fourth is the queen stage and the only mountain finish on the route. The hilly fifth stage promises an unpredictable outcome due to the undulating terrain, large elevation changes, and flat finish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The route covers a total of 70 towns and 7 counties (B\u00e9k\u00e9s, J\u00e1sz-Nagykun-Szolnok, B\u00e1cs-Kiskun, Tolna, Somogy, Baranya, Veszpr\u00e9m).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are 15 intermediate sprints through the race where riders can collect points and bonus seconds.
