They consider it important to nurture and preserve their own traditions and customs, and to celebrate their festivals in a fitting manner. Their aim is to foster Ukrainian traditions and bring the community together, whilst involving as many young people as possible. In addition to organising events, the ethnic self-government wishes to support members of the Ukrainian community living in P\u00e9cs, as well as to identify and support talented individuals. The way of life, traditions, cuisine, weddings and other rituals of the Ukrainian people are carried on not only by the older generation but also by the younger generation.
