In the 1950s and 1960s, 25 Greek families fleeing the Greek Civil War, which raged between 1946 and 1949, were resettled in P\u00e9cs. To this day, they keep their traditions alive, even though most of them are second- or third-generation Greeks who now consider Hungarian to be their mother tongue.
