This trail reveals the characteristic features of the Mecsek’s forest parks. Lookouts, comfortable walking paths, and adventurous trails alternate, displaying the diverse beauty of the central Mecsek. Route Description:

Start your journey at the Misina TetőPont, offering breathtaking views of Pécs and the surrounding Mecsek landscape. Follow the trail marker to reach the Tubes Lookout, a renowned viewpoint in the Mecsek. On the way, take a short detour along the trail marker to visit the Kis-Tubes Lookout, which also offers exceptional vistas. These stops provide a perfect opportunity to admire the contrast between nature and the urban landscape.

Continue the journey from Tubes along the trail marker, which leads to Sós-hegy. Here, stand the Honfoglalás Memorial at a curve in the trail. Just a 15-minute walk away, in the located a lookout where it’s worth taking a short break to enjoy the tranquility. Before following the trail marker to the Remete-rét, a popular rest area featuring forest benches and rain shelters.

From Tubes, continue journey along the marked trail leading to Sós-hegy. Here, stands the Honfoglalás Memorial located at a bend in the trail. A 15-minute walk from the memorial takes you to the Sós-hegy lookout, where it’s worth taking a short break to enjoy the serenity. From there, follow the marked trail further toward Remete-rét. This popular rest area features comfortable forest benches and rain shelters, making it an ideal spot for a quick refresh during your hike.

From Remete-rét, follow the trail marker to the Büdös-kút, a natural water source that offers a refreshing stop, especially on longer hikes. From here, continue on the trail marker to the Zsidó Valley, a picturesque area with rich vegetation and unspoiled beauty.

Exiting the valley, the trail leads to the Kőlyuk Cave via the Z trail marker, showcasing one of the Mecsek’s hidden natural wonders. From the cave, the trail marker guides you to the Nagy-Mély Valley, a striking ravine with dramatic cliffs and lush greenery, making it one of the hike’s most exhilarating sections.

The route then follows the trail marker to Kantavár, where the ruins of a medieval castle evoke the region’s historical significance. Continue along the trail marker to reach the Kis-rét, a peaceful clearing equipped with benches and rain shelters, perfect for a relaxing break.

The final leg of the hike follows the trail marker back to the Misina TetőPont, where you can unwind with a hot tea or coffee while reflecting on the day’s adventure.
