Barbican is a significant historical monument of Pécs. The Gothic gate tower had defence functions as part of the Episcopal Castle. It is the only barbican in Hungary today. In Pécs, part of the fort wall and the moat can also be seen next to the round tower.

The Barbican in Pécs is only a few minutes away from the Cathedral on foot, so it can easily be included in a downtown walking tour. You should also go up to its top as well because the panorama is wonderful there.
