New scheduled flight between Pécs and Munich

As of the 30th of March 2026, the summer airline schedule includes a new line between Pécs and Munich. This much awaited means of transportation will make the city and the region a household name in a boosting international network in many areas. Passengers can board the planes twice a week in each direction.

Experts agree that Munich, amongst Europe’s most important business, innovation and transportation centres, is an ideal destination for Pécs. Munich Airport not only ensures a direct connection with Southern Germany, a precious business and academic partner of the locals, but also offers excellent transitions towards Western Europe, North America and Asia. Enterprises in Baranya have traditionally good connections with German companies, and the University of Pécs will also prosper from this new opportunity. Students’, lecturers’ and researchers’ mobility is enhanced, thus cross-border projects and conference tourism are expected to grow significantly.

The ATR72-600 type regional aircraft with a capacity of 72 seats will cover the distance between the two cities within approximately 90 minutes. The flight is operated by Danish Air Transport (DAT) in the frames of the skyhub PAD project. For more information concerning the schedule and tickets, please, visit the DAT website.

The most important feature of the flight is the participation in the Lufthansa codeshare program with a special flight number for the route. Due to this cooperation, passengers may reach more exotic spots of the world with a transition in Munich. The global network comprising Lufthansa and its partners like the Star Alliance airlines, adds to the international visibility of Pécs and the region.

The Pécs-Pogány Airport has already proven its professional flight management strategy before, so no wonder that within half an hour after landing, the aircraft is ready for a new adventure. Even nervous flyers will find ease here since the airport has a family friendly, stress-free boarding system with free parking lot and quick luggage handling service. In Munich, Terminal 2 is the designated landing spot for the flights.

Launching the Pécs-Munich flight opens several doors in trade, tourism and tuition and will contribute to the city’s successful international growth.
