The need to build a new market hall in Pécs was raised more than a decade ago, as the existing one was not up to the standards of today, neither in its internal structure nor in its external condition. The functions of the new Market Hall:

ACCESSIBILITY

The main entrances to the building are located on the north side of the building, but the facility can also be accessed from Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street to the west. The entrances to the warehouse and the service entrances are oriented to the south and east, so that the circulation of the different functions is separated. New parking spaces have been created in the immediate vicinity of the building in addition to the existing ones. Employee/operator parking for the Market Hall is located in the service yard.

TECHNOLOGY

The building is equipped with state-of-the-art power, mechanical and low-voltage systems. Storage of products is provided in a modern cold store. Solar panels have been installed on the roof of the facility and the entire building is cooled and ventilated.

TRANSIT LOCATIONS

On the north side, there are 3,000 square metres of table-top outlets, including a food court, meat and butcher shops and bakeries.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

The market hall has a separate, spacious restaurant area with an external entrance, which can be used independently of the opening hours of the market hall, and a large public toilet block.
