Pécs Railway Sports Club was founded in 1919 and celebrated the 100th anniversary of its establishment in 2019. This traditional sports club is one of the few sports clubs that has continuously operated and expanded in the past 100 years. It has hosted over thirty different types of sports for shorter or longer periods of time. Twelve of our athletes and coaches have represented us at Olympic Games between the 1936 summer Olympic Games held in Berlin and the 2016 Olympic Games hosted by Rio de Janeiro. Moreover, hundreds of our junior and adult athletes have been capped for Hungary at international sporting events, and over a thousand of our athletes have become national champions in their sport. PVSK is one of the biggest and most successful sports associations in Southern Transdanubia hosting 14 types of sports and engaging over 1200 active members. The motto of the club: “patience and humbleness are key to success”. It characterizes the mindset that connects our family: persevering enthusiasm, hard work, undying faith in development and a humble attitude towards sports are values shared by all members.
