Pro Pannonia started its publishing activities in affiliation with Baranya County Library in 1985 publishing the Pannonia Books series edited by Tibor Tüskés, and a few years later, by Dr. Gábor Szirtes. Most importantly, it publishes noteworthy books on local history, culture, literature, science, and art history related to Pécs, Baranya County and Southern Transdanubia, as well as contemporary literary fiction, history, and literary theory.
It publishes 15-20 books every year that are distributed nationwide. It publishes six different book series:

– Pécsi Tudománytár (The Encyclopaedia of Pécs)
– Pannonia Tankönyvek (Pannonia Books)
– Bauhaus pécsi mesterei (Pécs Masters of Bauhaus)
– Dél-Dunántúl festett templomai (Painted Churches in Southern Transdanubia)
– Thienemann-előadások. (Thienemann Lectures)
Under the editorship of Tibor Tüskés and Dr. Gábor Szirtes, high-quality books receiving national acclaim were published presenting and preserving the values of Baranya County and the wider region. In the past thirty years, it has published books of poetry, prose, and educational science, setting a great example of value preservation in Pécs. Some of the well-known publishing authors include Gyula Takáts, Tibor Tüskés, Győző Csorba, Zsuzsa Albert, Pál Lovász, László Bertók, László Göncz, Katalin Kéri, and László Debreczeni.
