In Hungary today, veterinary out-of-hours services are organised on a voluntary basis, without external funding. In Baranya County, the out-of-hours service is organised by the Baranya County Branch of the Veterinary Chamber. It is important to note that, due to a lack of capacity, the out-of-hours service can only operate within certain limits. On weekdays, the on-call service operates on a call-out basis and can be reached by telephone between 20:00 and 22:00.

At weekends, the telephone number for the district on-call service can be called between 08:00 and 20:00 in urgent, life-threatening cases.
