Celebrating its 20^th anniversary on 18 December 2017, the CineWorld Group member Cinema City network is the second biggest multiplex operator in Europe. Cinema City Csepel was the very first multiplex that was opened by the company under this name in the Eastern Central European region. Since then, many multiplexes of shopping centres in and outside the capital had been added to the list of cinemas operated by the network. Cinema City Pécs was opened in Pécs Pláza in 1999.
