The flag of Bartók Béla Men’s Choir

Pécs Bartók Béla Men’s Choir, formerly called Pannon Volán Bartók Béla Men’s Choir, is one of the few Hungarian choirs that has their own flag.

The choir received their ”team flag” from the management board of the Union of Transport and Transportation Workers in 1959 in recognition of their continued success in the Hungarian choir movement.

The choir, established 75 years ago, has preserved the team flag proudly and respectfully.

(The picture taken at the opening ceremony of the exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the choir’s establishment shows the choir master, Dr. Tamás Lakner in the foreground and the choir’s flag in the background.)

The choir exhibits the flag at prestigious events, jubilee celebrations and foreign events they organise or participate in.

The flag is preserved and taken care of by the so called “Flag Mother”.

The 24 ribbons on the flag commemorate the awards, titles, and the recognition the choir has received. The flag weights 5 kilograms without the flagpole.
