540 metres above sea level, Zsongor Stone is the most beautiful natural lookout spot of Mecsek. The popular lookout spot was created when the Mecsek Association placed an iron railing at the natural red sandstone rock formation at the end of the 19th century. There is also an interesting legend about Zsongor Stone, revealing the origin of its name.
Zsongor Stone can be reached with a relatively long and tiring hike, but the amazing panorama it offers is definitely worth the visit. We can marvel at other sights on our way there too, such as Sas-fészek or the Babás-szerkövek.
