It is of utmost importance for Pécs that both its residents and visiting tourists can get around freely, get their things done with ease, and experience the city’s vibrant atmosphere and events without barriers.
There is a widespread demand for accessibility, not only for people living with disabilities. Accessible locations and services are just as crucial for the elderly, families with young children, people with temporary injuries, and anyone who values convenience (just think of commuting university students with suitcases or older people carrying rolling shopping carts).
We make no distinction between people, just like the People First Non-profit Association of Pécs, one of our professional partners in this effort.
People First has elaborated and compiled an Accessible Pécs database, a comprehensive first-hand experienced map of Pécs institutions, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, accommodations and restaurants. Pécs is constantly striving to support the mission of a barrier-free city and to ensure that there are no barriers for the people of Pécs and tourists coming to our city.
